With this tour you’ll have at your disposal a professional driver with
an air-conditioned car for the transfers from and back to the port of
Genoa and a professional English-speaking guide in Milan to explore the
best of Northern Italy.
You will meet our local professional English-speaking driver by your
cruise ship to start the tour. Our driver will wait by your cruise
holding a sign with your name on it. After that, transfer to Milan.
Arrival in Milan after about a 100-minute drive and meeting with your
professional English-speaking guide. The walking tour with the guide
will start from the symbol of the city: the famous
DUOMO, a spectacular
Cathedral built in 1386. Atop the Duomo is still possible to admire the
statue of Virgin Mary, the so called
Madonnina erected in 1762 at the
height of 108.5 meters.
A 20-minute walk and to you’ll be at the next stop, the
Castello
Sforzesco. In the Castello complex there are some museums with great
collections of paintings and sculptures.
Again a pleasant 15-minute walk to reach the next stop of this walking
tour: the famous
La Scala Opera House and finally the
Galleria Vittorio
Emanuele II. La Scala is the most famous Theater in Italy and among the
most important in the world.
Built in 1877, the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is the salon of Milan
and it became famous soon after its construction for its size,
considered exceptional for the time.
At this point free time (1 hour) for lunch (not included) and then back
to the car where your professional driver is waiting for you.
Stop on the way back to Pavia to visit by yourself (30 minutes of free
time) the
Certosa di Pavia another impressive example of Gothic and
Renaissance Italian architecture. Built in 1396-1495, it is one of the
largest monasteries in Italy.
Finally back to the port of Genoa by car.
This Tour does not include any entrance fees and meals.
