This is the classical 1/2 day excursion and it lasts rougly 4 hours. The guests are picked up in their hotel by the driver with his car.
The drive is fairly short 1/2 hour to 40 minutes. Once at the place, You'll meet Your private local English-speaking guide and he will buy the tickets for You.
The guide can choose the entrance Porta Marina or Anfiteatro, according to logistic problems and knowing generally which is the busiest on that particular day of the week.
The visit will start after a short toilet break, and it will last more or less two full hours, covering a vast area of the ancient Roman city, with its stepping stones to cross streets, the basis of the bodies covered by the ashes, feature to be found only in Pompeii.
The exploration continues visiting a public bath, the area of the theatres or the anfitheatre - according to the entrance used -
the red light district (if open), a Roman villa and some of the shops, that make understand how advanced Roman world was 2000 years ago.
When the visit is over, the guide will take the guests outside, giving 20 minutes of free time for a drink or to buy a book or a souvenir.
There is the chance of an optional visit of the nearby Cameo Factory.
Then back to the car for the drive to the hotel.
